not sure how many of you all keep up with the reality show Black Ink Crew, but recently i was watching one of the latest episodes with my lady and a pretty interesting topic arose. there was a situation where the couple below were struggling to maintain their relationship because a compromise needed to be made. Dutchess was ready to leave New York to start her own dream in her hometown which put Caeser in a hard spot because he was already building his own empire there in New York. ultimately he decided to close his tattoo shop and leave the city to join Dutchess in North Carolina. my question is what would you do?? would you abandon your dream for a chance at real love, or do you feel like an undeniable love takes a backseat to your dream.. (dont forget to take the poll)

I've never even heard of the show but this is a great question. It would depend on the circumstances in the pursuit of my dream. In the case of this show the male had already started his & packed up shop to support her dream? Did she have a plan & why could she not have started it there or left without him to see if his business takes off while she starts hers in another state.
There doesn't seem to be enough common ground and too much compromising on one's part. I'm selfless and tend to make decisions that's an overall fit for all involved so it just depends.

well she moved away from her hometown and family to help assist him with building his empire, she kinda wanted to see if he would do the same. he was struggling with closing his shop and i understood his reasoning. if i was as successful, im not sure how i would have handled that situation either. to add to that he was use to the city and wasnt ready for that sort of lifestyle change, it was alot for him to think about but ultimately he closed shop.. i was surprised but also encouraged by his decision to uproot and leave what he built for her sake justpeachy

I see, so she made the initial sacrifice and wanted to see if he was to return the favor. The show sounds interesting, I need to check it out. Nonetheless this is a great topic that couples go through at different levels involving sacrifices, expectations and communication.

Right TODAY, I would choose my empire. I want to be established and self sufficient. If my dream of owning a company can be realized, I'm doing that. All the love in the world be damned. Hah!
