The #FDA has approved #Flibanserin, the world's first prescription drug to increase women's libido, after previously rejecting it twice in 2010 and 2013.
The #LittlePinkPill, also referred to as #femaleViagra, will be sold under the brand name #Addyi starting October 17. But unlike Viagra, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction and not sexual desire, Addyi was originally developed as an antidepressant. It targets the neurotransmitters responsible for sexual excitement, dopamine and norepinephrine.
Developed by #SproutPharmaceuticals, Addyi will be used to treat sexual dysfunction in premenopausal women and needs to be taken daily in order to be effective.
Due to safety issues, the drug will only be available through certified and specially trained health care professionals and pharmacies. It will also come with a “boxed warning” about side effects, including nausea, low blood pressure and fainting.
#CindyWhitehead, CEO of Sprout Pharmaceuticals, said depending on a patient's insurance plan, she can expect to pay between $30 to $75 a month for the medication.
According to CNN, this is the first FDA approved treatment for sexual desire in men or women.

This will be...interesting! Has anyone seen the netflix documentary about this?
It'd be interesting to explore WHY "FSD" is an issue in the first place. Diet? Stress? Hormones? Or just aggravated as hell?
Let's dig!

Interesting enough that when Viagra was created, it did not address libido only impotence.
I wonder if the side effects are as dangerous? I agree with the above poster that there are different things we can look into before going the prescription route. We need to return to a nore natural holistic approach for our sexual health

Just my opinion..shouldn't we address the causes behind the lack of libido? The pill just sounds like a fix.

Yeah I've only done small research on it myself..stress, diet and, some medications are some causes of low libido..or it could be the person they are with. I think it's worth the discussion.
