Somedays... like tonight... I just want to go to the highest mountain and scream and cry. All this knowledge... this space in my head is packed yet my heart is empty but heavy. I could be Angela Davis or other great melanated woman but these women didn't have time for families and love, during their time of significance. I will forever love my people and do my part of trying to uplift but I am still a woman... I still need love

crownonhigh why would you want to be anyone but yourself. Dont look at others that is their journey not yours. You reincarnated into this body at this time to serve a purpose. You need to start looking at you and ask yourself touch questions. Explore your spirituality because that is where all your answers lie. You are beautiful beyond measure you just need to realise that.

Don't ever forget that some people chose what they want to do. I know older women who said with a straight face that love is overrated and as long as they have Jesus, they are good. Aside from that just Be you always, love deeply and it'll return to you, be open, and remember "your time is coming"

There is always a stage when going through spiritual and intellectual growth that feels overwhelming. It's natural. It's important for you to overstand that you're not alone. Remember that you have a community that can help you achieve your goals. Also, that big things can be accomplished with baby steps. Most days I feel the same, overflowing with the weight and emotions of this life. But I try to think about how I am only getting stronger and wiser. And I will help build and be a part of a community that can achieve great things.

My love! You can be all that! The most revolutionary thing we accomplish as black women is to love and uplift our men and birth, nurture and educate the next generation. I counsel women through this all the time. Society has taken away the VALUE of breing a mother and a wife but really, what could go on without us?
I appreciate what Angela and women like her have done but check this out, the state of our community is so because almost EVERY woman has turned away from womanliness to try to be like them. The softness, the strength, the grace, order, balance and peace that a woman - standing in HER power - brings, all that is missing. And our babies are crying for it. Our men are longing for it... And WE are breaking down in want of our natural roles.
Examine women in other cultures. The late Bhutto was graceful, poised, a wide and mother AND a leader and revolutionary. Only the American black woman is made to feel that she - and her people - are better off without her...because without her, her people will continue to fail. We've been taken out of our homes since we've been in this country and our foundation has suffered for it.
Never feel bad for longing for the love that is rightfully yours. You are a woman, Gods most precious gift, and you deserve to love and be loved.

I know what you mean. The greatest struggle is with self. I feel like I'm going through a crisis at 28! Stuck on the same questions not seeing through the fog of thought after thought after thought. Busting my brains to figure out who do I want to become while trying to please everyone else. When do I get to be first? Even if for a little bit without feeling selfish.
