Can you be an emotional side chick? Because if I am really honest with myself, I have been an emotional side chick for over a year. I love this "friend" of mine and I don't want to lose him but if his girl knew how close we were, how much we share, how often we communicated...she wouldn't approve. If I was the girlfriend, I wouldn't approve. I don't know how to stop it and the only solution I have come up with is walking away...and I don't want to do that. So I guess my question is, at what point in a friendship does "shoulder to lean on friend" become "other woman status"? And can you ever go back to "just friends"?

a yr is a long time invested, but i believe its possible for you two to be "just friends" it wont be easy though.. and it will take some time
its easy to fall into these type of situations if you arent careful because i've been in a handful myself. when you genuinely care for someone sometimes you feel their best interest can be fixed by you. my question is, is their relationship on the rocks or is this person someone you just started to grow fond of

Yea a yr is a long time invested..and as women we are already emotional beings...the more u stay in that side position the worse you'll feel..bc regardless of what he tells u to make u think he cares...the reality is he doesn't care at all...not about u or his girlfriend.
There's one rule to side chic/dude relationships and that is...they lie to u just as much as the lie to their partner/spouse.
Ppl have to remember that they are dealing with compulsive liers..thats the only way they can keep u and their main squeeze attached to them.
I'd advise not giving this "friend" any more of your time bc as much as it may hurt u to leave think about how much it'll hurt his girl who was there first...that trusts every word he says...and I'm sure he tells u both that he loves/cares for u.
I don't want mess in your life sis...leave that man in the dust bc if u every crossed the line of your "position" he'll step away from u and act like u don't exist.....
If u don't believe me...tell his girl what going on and watch how quickly he'll disappear....he won't run to u he'll deny u...say ur crazy or don't even know u...and THAT is why he isn't your friend
