There was a plant that rooted in the ocean floor. She broke through the sands, held her breath, & began to grow towards the light. Her stem was brown, firm, & curvy and she grew higher & higher towards the surface.
When she finally broke through the water's surface & tasted her first breath, the sun grew brighter, knowing shed need the energy to keep growing.
She grew her first few leaves & sprouted a tiny bud, which would grow into the most beautiful flower. She also grew thick black vines that floated in the water & danced as the waves ebbed & flowed.
One day, a wise & drunken sailor sailed near the plant. His body was bruised & he felt her healing energies. He selfishly planned to pluck her from the water & put her in his tea, so he may heal. But upon further meditation, he decided against it.
As he brought down his sail, he leaned over his boat to admire her. The sailor didn't need to see through the sun reflecting seas to know she was deep rooted.
The sailor knew he had to let her be. she had come so far & for him to take her for his own use would be the purest narcissism.
The sailor admired her beauty, & watched her vines dance for what felt like an eternity.
Finally, he brought up his sail & was pushed by the strongest wind. He steered his boat to course & the wind guided him.
As the sun began to set, he felt his injuries begin to heal at magical speeds. He was overwhelmed with a feeling of euphoria & found a calm state of nirvana.
The plant & her flower kept growing, reaching higher & higher into the sky. She had blessed the sailor & humbly grew taller & wider so he may see her again in passing.
Beautiful black vines waving in the wind, the sun rises & falls, the infinite verse above her.
End.
-I dreamed this last night. It wasn't really a dream, I was laying in bed and imagined it happening. Then I started to verse it like a poem. It doesn't rhyme or anything - it's kind of like a story.
