Hi,I simply want to know why is it the so-call pro-black conscious communitity teach hatred among the black lgbt community.Instead of promoting fellow black men to step up and become better fathers.I have nothing against straight black pride. But you forget straight black families procreate gay/lesbian kid/s as well. As a parent you don't get to choose. Who your children decide to form a rlshp with. Gay people have been around forever. Aint nothing new under the sun.Just more open now. Angela Davis was a problack activist lesbian, who fought on the same line with Huey P. Newton. But that didn't stop the fight. What I'm trying to say is, as black people we have bigger fish to fry, than worry about who someone chooses to form a rlshp with ??.

I'm not sure that I agree that everyone who is pro-black and conscious is also anti-lgbt. I personally feel, at the end of the day "black is the Tie that binds". We're all in the same boat whether like who we're in the boat with or not. No matter whatever else we are, as long as we're black, thats what will matter most until this society truly purges itself of it's systemic racism. Whatever other community we could be a part of because of gender, orientation, nationality, the fact that we are black will always matter most.
So to any who might be tempted to unduly criticize black lgbt, I would just point out the same way we got shut out, diminished, and ostracized, the same happens to black lgbt. In the supposed liberal bastions of acceptance, tolerance, and progressivism, you still see people of color marginalized.
Also, in the case of extra judicial slayings, none of the corrupt police are going to be checking to see if your gay or bi before they use force, because what matters is you are black, and so (IMO) that's all that should matter to us.
If a gay black man is mistreated by the police there should be no less outrage and protest by all people but especially black people. What matters is that he's black and that should be all we need to come to his aid (or anyone else's aid from lgbt that needs it). We are in this together.
