Am I the only one that gets nervous about meeting new people but have to push myself out there anyway? If I am, I'm cool with that lol It used to be easy to go out and meet people but since I've shaved my head bald it has become a true challenge lol Black men my age don't know what to say or do, they'll smile but that's about it. The more seasoned brothers (older men) approach me with ease. Idk I'm open otherwise but for the past year it has been a struggle.

mskenya my head has been shaved low on & off for almost two years now. I experienced the awkward gazes from guys in my age range but not for long. I still get approached by guys my age. Think it's more so of a ego thing with younger guys. Idk. Older guys are a little less stunned by the low cut. But as long as you own the style you're good. Think we attract a reflection of ourselves in the current phase we're in. Maybe an older guy is what you need at this moment. Could be the younger guys loss

Good question....I don't specifically go out for that purpose...I just engage people wherever I am. Events, networking, occasionally happy hour when I can get away, meetings....walking up to Panera is when I met the last guy who has turned out to be a great friend and honest business partner.

I'm owning it daily though, thanks

I didn't step out into the dating world until I was in college. I'm rather outgoing so I went to a lot of events, usually involving the Black community, neo-soul music, or poetry. While I did meet guys, they would always say I was "too black" or that I shouldn't wear my natural hair/braids/twists. From the 3 guys I dated 2 of them left me for a white girl.I figured it's their loss. Currently, I don't actively participate in the dating scene. I figure if I am meant to meet Mr. Right one day it will eventually happen. I'm in no rush.
