So we're 5 days away from the march...
Let me just say, before I begin my line of questioning ----
Big shouts to the Honorable Minister Farrakhan and all that he's done for our people. Shaking the sleeping giant awake is no easy job. He could've gave up a long time ago.
So for that, we give him credit.
The first Million Man March (MMM) gave black America a sense of unity we hadn't felt before - at least not in our generation. So it's divine that in the climate of these times the Nation of Islam has put together a 20th anniversary march. (Yes, we feel old)
Alright, so...
"Justice or Else!" It SOUNDS like right. The streets & police are collecting black bodies left and right and, as a whole we're pretty tired of hearing our "leaders" tell us to be peaceful... Or forgiving... Or loving ... Or whatever.
I mean, even the Bible says that God is a man of WAR. Of course we're not saying to take up arms with the greatest military in the world- that'd be foolish. Not are we saying to be emotional and REACT to what's going on.
But really, What is the "or else" all about? Are we ready to RESPOND to injustice?
We've all seen Min. Farrakhan on the promo circuit lately. He's been reaching out to celebrities and setting our spirits on fire with those awesome interviews... And it all sounds good, But WHAT ELSE?
Is there a plan to create our own justice if the unjust fail to give it - again? Is there a PLAN to come together collectively and build? Has a deadline for this justice been established?
Serious questions here.
Because honestly, we've heard these cries before. We've marched, stood, sat, laid, died in - but then what?
Are we ready to organize yet? Are we going to wait another year or until the INJUSTICE gets to be too much? Are we just going to the march to say we were there... I can see the hashtags already.
Or are we really gonna change history this weekend?
