I have a business idea I'm bursting at the seams to make a reality. I've been working with brute force day and night with many sleepless nights, anxious mornings, and fortunately a lot of support from fellow visionaries. At this point my business plan is in the development stage and gaining capital is now the name of the game. Some resources I've found are: Kickstarter, Angel funding, and just recently Lupe Fiasco started a non-profit to fund startups www.start.fund If anyone else knows of any resources for financial backing, please share. Let's help each other get to the top. Happy manifesting!

I just thought we could share any resources and tips we had to get a business off the ground. Gaining capital can be a factor when you get things going. I thought some funding resources would help not make it a limitation.

The problem with those is that everyone has a start up funding account. It's just me... I don't really have any family or friends to reach out to. My family is very small and they aren't rolling in the money and I've always kinda been a loner/small circle kinda gal. I literally have 1.5 friends. Whose going to help me get to $20,000 to start a night club?

ria85 I feel you have the wrong perspective on the purpose of crowd funding and how it works... My understanding is that you would create one to appeal to the masses and hopefully like minded people will donate, not just friends and family... Basically you put your idea out there and hope people who see your vision support you... Funding from the crowd (the world) not nessecarily your specific crowd...
For example, people have raised millions to start projects to make video games... People are not funding the projects because the creators are well known or anything... They are just contributing because they like to play video games... It's a little more complicated than my example in reality... I just attempted to lay the basic principle behind a successful crowdfund... I hope this helps...

ria85 I understand your perspective but I also think you can take a positive approach. I know with the vision I have, it may have started as my own but when I share it with people, they grow excited about it and want to be a part of it. If it's your own dream, your own vision it's your responsibility to see that through and no one else's. When there's a will there's a way. It may take many steps and brute force but the first step is knowing it's possible. We all have circumstances that can be limiting but there are also ways around those limitations. Don't doubt yourself.

Have you checked with your local city, state & federal govt. of grants that can be given based upon the business venture? Also the fact that your a woman & minority may garner you some funds as well.
