I actually have found my King, my all, my love "online" ?
Ok, so what had happened was...he found my IG through a mutual page and has been following me for over a year. Now, if you follow me, you know you'll have a very good idea of who I am, what I'm passionate about, how my mind works, etc. because my page is truly a reflection of me.
Well, during this time he would comment on post but none of his responses were waste of keystrokes...they were always well structured, well presented and extremely intelligently articulated - not to mention just hysterical when warranted.
So, one day after he saw me dealing with a bunch of BS, he DMed me kind words of appreciation and encouragement. Nothing flirtatious or sneaky...just basically "Don't trip"
Well weeks later, I referenced a post from a year ago which he disntinctly remembered and eloquently spoke one with a little witty banter his, and of course all of his comments up until that point caused me to message him and ask "Who are you what do you do and why are you so brilliant??"
That led to a series of exchanges and eventually a phone call which I initiated. And that phone call lasted for 12 hours until I fell asleep and woke up four hours later...
I look down at my phone and noticed the call was still going. I had my headphones on so as I moved around there was a slight rustling and the next thing I heard was his voice saying "good morning" --- yes he had waited UP for me!
Needless to say I - my heart jumped out of my body and basically caught a redeye to New York. He said "Well you fell asleep and I felt kind of bad I didn't want to just leave you there"
I still can't quite articulate into words just how beautiful, thoughtful considerate, caring and overall amazing of a feeling that was.
After that he actually got up and went to work but we remained on the phone. As you can imagine I felt so guilty that this man was going to have to work an entire day with no sleep. Well I basically spent his entire day with him listening to his life live and uncut.
I heard him have a fluent conversation with the Uber driver in Spanish and order food fluently on Korean from one of his favorite restaurants...I heard him consult clients (he's an architect)...I heard him speak to coworkers, neighbors, friends, family, etc.
And none of these people ever knew I was listening. We've had complete TRANSPARENCY. See, people can pretend to be whatever, but you can't control what people around you say - ESPECIALLY when they don't know someone's listening. Granted, we have tact and aren't having personal conversations that others should be privy to.
But this is how we basically spent our days/nights...seeing each others reality - good and bad.
I'd never considered it, it just happened organically - but when distance is a factor it's a great way to build security.
And when we met, it wasn't "awkward" - it was dope to eat at the favorite restaurant and get on the elevator at his job that I hear him go up and down...take the route he takes to work, see Born Justice, the man he always gives change to.
And we go above and beyond to create that security for each other. And neither of us were "looking" for love, our past love lives are so similar - we weren't against love, just happily existing and pursuing our dreams.
His mother is amazing.
So yes...while I built this site to help others find the love that I wasn't looking for online...I ended up finding what I tried to give to others.
If you found love online SHARE!! No sad stories please that's for another post.
